Bobbi Oshiro Player Profile

Bobbi Oshiro Player Profile

Bobbi was always interested in sports, exploring many different activities in her home state of Hawaii. However, she found her true passion in the fast-paced and competitive game of pickleball. Bobbi dedicated herself to improving her skills and now ranks as a top 10 player on the APP Tour, proving that hard work and passion can lead to success.

  • Bobbi was born and raised on the island of Oahu in Hawaii. She picked up numerous sports when she was younger that included soccer, swimming, gymnastics, and tennis. Ultimately, she decided to focus solely on tennis by dedicating time to travel for practice and tournaments, all the while attending private school. All the hard work eventually landed her in Boise, ID where she played tennis for Boise State University. After graduating with numerous academic and athletic accolades and a degree in Health Science and Double Minor in Business and ITM, she moved to South Florida where she currently still resides. She began coaching tennis and working with high-performance juniors aspiring to become college and world-class players for five years. Towards the end of COVID (2020), she picked up the sport of pickleball and was instantly hooked after she lost to a bunch of old people trying to play on a “small tennis court”. Since then, it has been quite the journey. Bobbi played in her first tournament at 5.0 winning some money and then played in her first pro tournament the following summer of 2021. According to DUPR rankings, Bobbi currently sits at Top 35 in Doubles and Top 20 in Singles. Regionally, she is at Top 10 for both Doubles and Singles in the Atlantic South. In June 2022, she decided to leave coaching full-time and take up a position with DUPR as part of their commercial team as an Account Manager. Pickleball has provided her with numerous opportunities and a passion to still be able to compete at a high level. She has met a lot of great people and has surrounded herself with those that she can consider them lifelong sisters and brothers.

"WE PSYCH OURSELVES UP TOO MUCH. LIKE IF YOU TRY TO TALK YOURSELF INTO, ‘OH, THIS IS A BIG MOMENT, THIS IS A BIG SHOT,’ YOU’RE PUTTING A LOT OF PRESSURE ON YOURSELF. YOU SHOT THAT SHOT HUNDREDS AND THOUSANDS OF TIMES. JUST SHOOT ANOTHER ONE."
